Peony on the Flower Agenda

Summer is in the air with the appearance of the peony, a truly seasonal flower! Once peonies appear on the market, everyone realizes summer is coming!

It is always a great moment when the first peonies arrive at the auction. Many florists and consumers look forward to it. That is why this flower is displayed in weeks 20 - 22 on the Flower Agenda.

History & origin
The age-old peony comes originally from China and belongs to the Paeoniaceae family. The flower owes its name to the Greek Paeon, who according to Greek mythology was a student of the Greek god Asclepius, the god of medicine.
